In English, students focus upon becoming clear communicators. Whether this is finding their flair in creative expression; via poetry or storytelling, persuasive communication via essays or speeches or writing informatively in a variety of other text types, students get to experiment with words and receive feedback on these processes. Basic foundational literacy skills are supported whilst students are challenged to consistently increase the sophistication of their communication. Texts studied provide an example of the power of story to explore the human condition. Whatever a student might need to communicate, we strive to give them the confidence that they can do it well.
